Nathan Harper, AIA, LEED AP BD+C
Nathan is an Architect and a Senior Associate at Spectrum Design. A graduate of the College of Architecture and Urban Studies at Virginia Tech, Nathan relocated to Roanoke from Boston, MA in 2006. Since returning to Virginia, he has worked on a wide range of commercial projects including museums, schools, churches, offices, athletic facilities, multi-family residential and collegiate work. Specializing in design, Nathan approaches every project as an opportunity to improve the function, performance, and quality of buildings. Due to his strong interest in design and the arts, he currently serves as Chair for the Roanoke Arts Commission and as the President for The Square Society, a local young professional organization that raises money for the arts. He has also served on the board for the Blue Ridge Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. In 2009, Nathan won an international design competition, Roanoke Urban Effect, with his solo entry seeking to transform a local eatery into a Roanoke icon. Nathan has also been honored as a recipient of the Blue Ridge Business Journal's 20 under 40, Emerging Leaders and was recently selected as a 2012 recipient of the Arts Council of the Blue Ridge's Kendig Awards for outstanding contributions to the Arts as a Young Professional.
