Archdale Hall, Guilford College
Archdale Hall is Guilford College’s oldest building. Restoring it while incorporating new energy-efficient design was a challenge perfectly suited for Spectrum, which added extra-thick insulation made from recycled materials and incorporated elements such as high-efficiency lighting and super-efficient heating and cooling systems. As a result of Spectrum’s work, the college plans to apply for LEED certification in 2008.
