Colonial Elementary School Wins Honorable Mention | 10.22.21
Colonial Elementary School was awarded Honorable Mention in the K-12 category of the ASID Virginia Chapter and IIDA Virginia & West Virginia Chapter Interior Design Excellence Awards.
Located in Botetourt County, VA, Colonial Elementary School has been a central part of the community since its original construction in 1939. Built as a high school, it then became a middle school, and ultimately an elementary school. The existing building was outmoded, overcrowded, and too small to support students and evolving teaching modalities. The design of this school sought to honor the past, support the present, and provide flexibility for the future.
