The Rockbridge Innovation Center, built in 1976, serves career and technical education high school students from Rockbridge County and Lexington, VA. As the Center’s programs have thrived, enrollment has grown, creating the need for both renovation and expansion.
Rockbridge County Public Schools selected Spectrum Design to develop a plan that advances the Center’s mission, resolves existing building deficiencies, and incorporates a phased construction approach to keep the facility operational throughout the project.
Key improvements include all-new building systems, a new public entrance, better circulation and direct connectivity to the main school, enhanced energy efficiency and natural daylighting, additional space to support expanding programs, and inviting commons areas for students and community visitors.
