Built in the late 1960s, Cave Spring High School had reached the point where a comprehensive transformation was needed to meet modern educational standards. Its original deep hexagonal layout created challenges for navigation, supervision, and classroom organization.
The design solution involved removing all interior walls within the classroom wing to create a more conventional corridor system—improving wayfinding, enhancing sightlines, and accommodating properly sized, regularly shaped classrooms. A new suite of flexible science labs, complete with secure outdoor learning areas, strengthens STEM education, while state-of-the-art technology supports 21st-century learning throughout the facility.
